Grammar (gramática in Spanish) is the structure of a language, including syntax, word order and inflection. It is a set of rules governing a native speaker's (innate, unconscience) knowledge of the correct way to put words together and modify words to express meaning, and to communicate.

Controversy

There are two opposing camps in the grammar field. Those who believe in prescriptivism and those who subscribe to descriptivism.
