Language acquisition is the process by which humans become fluent in their native language. Some people use it to refer to language teaching methods that resemble this natural process, as opposed to teaching grammar. Language Acquisition can also be understood as the acquiring a language naturally- usually as a first language- and sometimes as a second language, as opposed to language learning which entails overtly learning a language by studying its grammar.
