A number is used to describe the quantity of something.

Cardinal numbers

Cardinal numbers are the 'counting numbers' (1, 2, 3, 4, etc.).

Ordinal numbers

Ordinal numbers are used to describe a number's place in relation to another number. You can think of these as talking about the order of the numbers (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.).

First - Primer / Primero
Second - Segundo
Third - Tercer / Tercero
Fourth - Cuarto
Fifth - Quinto
Sixth - Sexto
Seventh - Séptimo
Eighth - Octavo
Ninth - Noveno
Tenth - Décimo
