A **number** is used to describe the quantity of something.

## Cardinal numbers

**Cardinal numbers** are the 'counting numbers' (1, 2, 3, 4, etc.).

## Ordinal numbers

**Ordinal numbers** are used to describe a number's place in relation to another number. You can think of these as talking about the order of the numbers (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.).

- First - Primer / Primero
- Second - Segundo
- Third - Tercer / Tercero
- Fourth - Cuarto
- Fifth - Quinto
- Sixth - Sexto
- Seventh - Séptimo
- Eighth - Octavo
- Ninth - Noveno
- Tenth - Décimo
